Saw Angels & Demons in Chennai recently. People actually clapped whenever Tom Hanks' character made one of his impossibly accurate predictions in the movie. And clapped when Ewan McGregor's character flies the helicopter containing a box full of antimatter up to the skies to save the Vatican and...never mind. Point is Popele clap!. Wow. So it's not just for Rajnikant and the dozen other ilaya dalapatis.
I also saw Startrek in Chennai recently. People clapped there also. Figured they were just trekkies. Then I saw Angels & Demons...
